us
Technocom Ltd was
established in 1999. The Principal Consultant is Philip Holder based in
Auckland, New Zealand. His career has ranged from driving heavy
earthmovers, through dairy farming, insurance, Telecom operator, Technical Writer, Tester,
Project Manager and Business Analyst, in over 45 projects and
20 organisations.
It's not uncommon
to hear him say, "what does common sense dictate?" and his
secret goal is always to make things as simple as possible, a potentially
commendable trait.
The existence of
his sense of humour might be disputed by some perhaps due to its
subtleness. What's less debatable is his dedication to incrementally
improving business processes and products and services and helping bring clarity
to stakeholders. He typically relishes improving things and solving
problems.
He seems to end up
being the 'go to guy', and he's comfortable with that. He has mentored ten
people and has been told that he has a beneficial and settling effect
on people.
Other stuff he can
do includes communicating and influencing at many levels of an
organisation, thinking strategically then implementing the detail. He's able to draw individuals out and
to bring people together through clarifying and creating an achievable
vision. This is the synthesis part.
Of less
importance, but still useful, are the IT Service Management and PRINCE2
project management certification. He also makes use of stuff he
learned from his NZIM Certificate in Management. He has
contributed to ITIL and project management development in several
organisations.
He has a BA in
Literature and Philosophy and a Certificate in Theology. He enjoys
adventures with his family, sailing, reading and outdoor work, and even
has a part-time garden maintenance business. He once flew a glider
for five hours along the Kaimai ranges, why is still unclear. And
he's involved in a faith-based ministry.
He enjoys nothing
more than inspiring others to improve how they do what they do, or even to
try something new they might not otherwise have attempted.
